Queanbeyan Highs record of winning the ACT Vampire Shield for the past eleven years is a commitment to not only helping others in need but also building a spirit of community and volunteering to assist others.

The good news is you can give blood again and again to help save more lives.
Australia has one of the safest blood supply systems in the world. There are a number of reasons for this. For a start, all of Australia's blood donors are voluntary and unpaid.
Student donors give blood because they want to do something for the community and they know they are helping their fellow Aussies in a very practical way.
Students who are 16 years of age and weigh more than 50kg can donate.
Currently there are slightly more than half a million voluntary unpaid donors in Australia. Every week Australia needs around 21,000 blood donations.
Do I need to do anything before I give blood?
- Drink plenty of water. It is suggested that students drink a 600mL bottle of water so you are hydrated before donating.
- Have a meal before you arrive as you should not donate on an empty stomach.
- Bring ID with you (e.g. school ID card; Donor card;).
