Who,What,Where, if my child is absent

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
Regular attendance at school is not only compulsory by law up to the age of 15, but will allow each student the opportunity to achieve the outcomes of each course being studied for the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate.
As a government requirement, after an absence students must give their roll teacher a signed and dated note.  It should be written on a full sheet of paper, be signed by a parent or guardian, and specify:

Full Name
Year
Roll Group
Date(s) of Absence

Reason for Absence

The government also requires that all absences be explained within 7 days although the school requests that a note be brought in immediately a student returns.  Failure to submit a note is an UNSATISFACTORY absence.
If illness stops you attending for more than 3 days in a row, your parent/guardian should ring and tell the school.
Telephone number: 6297 2088

School Songs

QUEANBEYAN HIGH SCHOOL SONG
We as mates forever,
Strive with high endeavour,
So to honour Queanbeyan High.
Friendly foes will meet us,
But they’ll not defeat us,
We will win for Queanbeyan High.
Forward, forward, raise the banner high,
Forward, forward, we’ll raise it to the sky.
Days of work and pleasure,
Memories we will treasure,
Of our years at Queanbeyan High.

GAUDEAMUS IGITUR
   Gaudeamus igitur
Iuvenes dum sumus
Gaudeamus igitur
Iuvenes dum sumus
Post jucundum juventutem
Post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus
Nos habebit humus.

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth,
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,
Brothers and sisters are we.
Let us walk together
In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment and live each moment
In peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
